RULES AND REGULATION FOR BATTLE OF THE BANDS

A total of TEN bands will battle for the BACK TO THE CITY battle of the
bands crown.
Bands must be prepared to play a set of at least twenty minutes including set
up time.
For every minute exceeding the twenty minute limit, the band will be penalized
3 points from their total score.
All competing bands are strongly encouraged to promote spreading the word
regarding the Battle of the Bands stage as crowd interaction and response will
be part of the judging criteria.
Any distasteful behaviour, and/or damage to BACK TO THE CITY FESTIVAL
or surrounding equipment or supplies will result in an automatic
disqualification.
A "Performer" consists of many different things. For this events, we require
both instrumental and vocal performance for judges to deem you a band.
BACK TO THE CITY FESTIVAL will not be held accountable for any broken
equipment, injuries, or any other negative occurrences outside of our staff’s
control

Judging Scale and Criteria
Music: This criteria is based on clarity, lyrical content and overall musical
performance. (1-10)
Stage Presence and Crowd Interaction: This Criteria is based on how well
the band "rocks out" and how well the band connects with the crowd. (1-5)
Appearance and Personality: This criterion is based on the overall look and
personality. If you want to be a star, you need to look the part! (1-5)
Crowd Applause: The key ingredient to stardom: THE FANS! (1-20)
